Of course, your heart may break, leaving you sad and blue. Some studies have shown that people can die of a broken heart. You’ve read the stories on the Internet, right? These are the stories of couples who have been married and devoted to each other for decades. Either the husband or wife dies, the other soon follows, sometimes within days or even hours.
Our view tends to be that our brain is the seat of thought and logic, and our heart is the seat of our feelings. So we would be without heart as “data” that old TV show, Star Trek, The Next Generation – smart, attentive, and logic; but the lack of happiness, compassion and love. What kind of life would that be?
Then there is the physical equivalent of a broken heart.
Our heart is unquestionably the most important muscle in our body. It is an organ that is not much bigger than our fist, however, that pumps blood continuously to the brain and other organs clock. We assume. However, almost half of all deaths in the United States are caused by heart disease. As you probably know, heart disease is actually a category of conditions, including coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, myocardial infarction, and more.
Many conditions that lead to our broken hearts can be avoided. It’s all up to us to make the first move.

Heart health is so important – we have a free heart sitting in a closet somewhere, ticking and collecting dust. If we live our full energy, vigor and vitality lives, we must do everything we can to keep the heart pumping efficiently.
